The Estonian Police and Border Guard Board aims to develop an autonomous unmanned aircraft system capable of responding to a range of incidents, such as traffic accidents without injuries. The innovative solution would enable incident scenes to be documented more quickly and accurately than by staffed patrol units. Aircraft deployed from urban bases would collect the necessary data and transmit it automatically for further processing. The system would save valuable police personnel resources, allowing them to be redirected to more important tasks such as criminal investigations and maintaining public order.
