Innovation Projects

Public sector innovation projects are funded through the Innovation Fund and the Innovation Programme. During the current EU funding period, the Innovation Fund supports projects that seek solutions for implementing the changes identified in the Estonia 2035 strategy by applying new knowledge and technologies. The Innovation Programme is an approximately eight-month design-thinking-based programme for developing public services. Since 2019, four Innovation Programmes have been carried out, involving a total of 26 projects.

    1.9.6. "DigiVesi": Digital Tools for Managing the Development of Public Water Supply and Sewerage Systems

    Inimese käed kraani all veeklaasi pesemas

    The project focuses on the digitalisation of water management systems and the development of data-driven decision-support tools. It will develop and test innovative digital solutions for collecting, managing and analysing water management data in real time.

    This includes monitoring the condition of water supply and sewerage infrastructure, planning investments and supporting operational management, while taking into account the physical ageing of infrastructure, changing demand and environmental conditions.

    The project is funded by the Public Sector Innovation Fund
