Innovation Projects

Public sector innovation projects are funded through the Innovation Fund and the Innovation Programme. During the current EU funding period, the Innovation Fund supports projects that seek solutions for implementing the changes identified in the Estonia 2035 strategy by applying new knowledge and technologies. The Innovation Programme is an approximately eight-month design-thinking-based programme for developing public services. Since 2019, four Innovation Programmes have been carried out, involving a total of 26 projects.

How can we ensure that support reaches everyone affected by traumatic events?

Estonia lacks a systematic approach to providing people with psychological, emotional and social support following traumatic events.

The team developed a cooperation model and practical tools for local government employees, which are being piloted in two regions of Estonia. These solutions are intended to help local authorities respond quickly and act appropriately following traumatic events.

The project involved the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Social Insurance Board, the Police and Border Guard Board, the Association of Local Authorities of Harju County and Võru City Government.

The project mentor was Krõõt Kroonmäe.

Project duration: 2021
The project was implemented as part of the Innovation Programme.
