Innovation Projects

Public sector innovation projects are funded through the Innovation Fund and the Innovation Programme. During the current EU funding period, the Innovation Fund supports projects that seek solutions for implementing the changes identified in the Estonia 2035 strategy by applying new knowledge and technologies. The Innovation Programme is an approximately eight-month design-thinking-based programme for developing public services. Since 2019, four Innovation Programmes have been carried out, involving a total of 26 projects.

    1.3.3. Real-Time Determination of a Building’s Indicative Energy Performance Class and Automation of Energy Performance Indicator Monitoring

    Hoonete energiatõhususe märgiste skaala, kus A on kõige energiatõhusam, G kõige vähem energiatõhus. Skaala kõrval on joonismaja.

    The aim of the project is to gain a better overview of the energy performance of Estonia’s building stock, increase the number and reliability of energy performance certificates, and improve both the quality of calculated energy performance certificates and construction quality. The project supports the objectives set out in the Estonia 2035 strategy and the European Union’s broader climate policy, helping Estonia move towards climate neutrality. As part of the project, automated solutions will be tested and developed to improve the collection, analysis and verification of data on the energy performance of the building stock.

    Project duration: 2024–2026
    The project is funded by the Public Sector Innovation Fund.
