Innovation Projects

Public sector innovation projects are funded through the Innovation Fund and the Innovation Programme. During the current EU funding period, the Innovation Fund supports projects that seek solutions for implementing the changes identified in the Estonia 2035 strategy by applying new knowledge and technologies. The Innovation Programme is an approximately eight-month design-thinking-based programme for developing public services. Since 2019, four Innovation Programmes have been carried out, involving a total of 26 projects.

    Tehisaru futuristlik joonistus ajust ja aju neurovõrgust

    There is a clear societal expectation that policy decisions should be evidence-based. At the same time, the volume of available data is growing and decision-making processes are becoming faster. Making use of all relevant information when preparing decisions therefore requires the ability to process increasingly large amounts of information within shorter timeframes.
