Innovation Projects

Public sector innovation projects are funded through the Innovation Fund and the Innovation Programme. During the current EU funding period, the Innovation Fund supports projects that seek solutions for implementing the changes identified in the Estonia 2035 strategy by applying new knowledge and technologies. The Innovation Programme is an approximately eight-month design-thinking-based programme for developing public services. Since 2019, four Innovation Programmes have been carried out, involving a total of 26 projects.

    1.7.7. "TarkRisk" - AI Assistant for Improving Crisis Preparedness

     

     

     

     

     

     

    The aim of the project is to develop and test an AI-based prototype in at least three local authorities to support the preparation of risk assessments, capability assessments and crisis plans.

    The pilot will assess whether the AI solution can speed up the preparation of risk plans, improve consistency in their quality and strengthen data-driven decision-making. The results of a successful pilot will provide a basis for further development of the solution and its potential use in other local authorities.
