Innovation Projects

The project focuses on addressing challenges related to waste management data by developing a set of tools in the form of a municipal dashboard. The dashboard will enable waste management activities and data to be monitored and measured in near real time, ensure access to accurate and relevant data, and allow performance to be assessed against defined indicators. Digitised, near-real-time data on waste treatment operations will make the entire treatment chain more transparent and comparable, while reducing the administrative burden on stakeholders associated with collecting and reporting waste data.

The development of a model for assessing the accuracy of waste data and the impacts and outcomes of waste collection and treatment will:

• address shortcomings in verifying the accuracy of municipal waste treatment data and identifying the results achieved through waste treatment;
• reduce the time spent by waste sector supervisory authorities on identifying and processing problematic cases through near-real-time data management.

The project will be implemented in Tartu Rural Municipality.

Project duration: 2025–2027
