Today, the transport system operates in silos, with trains, trams, buses, cars, ferries, aircraft, light mobility vehicles and other modes functioning separately, without a comprehensive overview. Passengers find it difficult to navigate between different modes of transport, making end-to-end journey planning and ticket purchasing a cumbersome process that requires considerable time and knowledge.

Different modes of transport—including trains, buses, ferries, micromobility services, urban and regional public transport, commercial routes, and short-term car rental—use separate booking and ticketing channels, and their application programming interfaces (APIs) are not interoperable. There is also no centralised solution for connecting these different APIs. As a result, Estonia currently lacks a single platform that would allow users to plan journeys combining public transport and alternative mobility options and purchase all the necessary tickets in one transaction.
